Telescoping Temple Trumpet Horn from Nepal - Radhung - Rag Dung Chen
Product Description
Temple Horn "Radhung, Rag Dung"
Telescoping Temple Horns ranging from 3-12 feet in length.
Traditionally two horns are played in unison from monastery rooftops to commence ceremonies or to punctuate certain temple rituals (pujas).
They produce healing or meditative sounds whose heavy-footed, fat bass tones are said to resemble the sound of elephants calling.
Low-pitched booming sound.
Brass and copper.
The dung-chen, up to 3-metre-long, a large horn, produced a shockingly deep sound. It is said that such a sound, together with the dung-dkar (conch) and dung (trumpet), make the ghosts panic and Buddha happy. Played during offering to the Buddha.
